After 18 months this week sees the return to our regular workshops. A large proportion of the membership has signed up to one or more of the 8 workshops that take place during the course of the week. Thanks to willing members we now have a couple of new ones which non-members can try out to see if they like working with the Society. Monday sees ‘Brushes and Biscuits’, a relaxed afternoon for sharing practice and experience; and Wednesday morning starts a series of ‘Basic Techniques’ with first sessions on acrylics. On Tuesday afternoons we refresh our knowledge with sessions on subjects such as ‘ Peter Lanyon and the St Ives School – land and sea’, ‘Mysticism, motifs and symbols in paintings’ as well as looking at framing ‘Reframing, thinking differently about presenting your art’.
