Post from the Chairman

Ros Plumley

Welcome to our revitalised Royal Tunbridge Wells Art Society website and do please take a moment to explore the pages. We are still building the information and illustration.

At midnight last night one of our members, who had picked up the breaking news, e-mailed me to say that only 6 people would be able to meet socially from Monday.
You will see from our Programme that we were just launching into our workshops and Life Classes as well as more exhibitions in our own Gallery on The Pantiles.   So back to on-line activities and Zoom for the time being. These include fortnightly Portrait Projects (try drawing Winston Churchill or Marilyn Monroe), taking some photos of ‘Magical Kent’ for the next exhibition of photos and practising street scenes in a variety of media.

The good news is that the 5 Exhibitions we have squeezed into July and August have been a great success with increasing numbers on The Pantiles calling in to say ‘Hello’.    People seemed very happy to fit in with our social distancing arrangements.   We had about 500 visitors to the Autumn Exhibition, sold 15 paintings and 132 cards.
