2024 saturday Workshop schedule

 2nd March 2024

Painting Dramatic Night Scenes with Alison Berry Workshop

Working from photos and using Edward Hopper as your inspiration you will be painting the exteriors and interiors of buildings viewed from the outside at night time. This can create dramatic work with the contrast between electric lit interiors and the darker exteriors and strange cast shadows.

Such scenes can also evoke intrigue and an uncertain narrative. Bring photos to inspire you.

Non-Members: £35      Members: £25

6th April 2024

Pastel Still Life with Kim Langford Workshop

This will be a day using chalk pastels in a bold and bright way. There will be a Still Life Installation for you to work from and think about composition, scale and colour. Lots of fun to immerse yourself in the process. Bring a fixative like hair spray, chalk pastels, a pencil, pastel paper such as Ingres in A3 and A2 sizes.

Non-Members: £35      Members: £25

11th May 2024

Be in Control of your Palette With Karen Gardner Workshop

Karen will help you understand the principles of using and mixing colour, and the way colour as a subject evokes mood.  She will share the theories and problems of well known artists over time. You will be using unusual objects or work abstractly. Bring painting materials and 4 sheets of A3 Watercolour paper.

Non-Members: £35      Members: £25

Following a successful period of recruitment we have now held two sessions for new members to meet each other, be introduced to what’s on offer at RTWAS and be shown round our HQ. These proved very popular.
